Thornbury Castle has four private dining rooms, each one with its own unique charm and ambience. They are all baronial in style with panelled walls, heraldic shields and open fires.

The Baron's Sitting Room
This is a delightful room for an exclusive private dinner. The room is wood panelled with an imposing original fireplace and deep set windows with views over the courtyard, castle walls and vineyard. This room is completely breathtaking when laid for dinner and lit by candles and firelight. The secret cubbyhole in the panelling always provides a good talking point and helps get the conversation flowing.

The Tower Dining Room
This hexagonal room at the base of the Castle’s tower is most impressive with arrow slit windows and a magnificent open fireplace. The room is full of character and looks quite spectacular when laid for dinner and lit by the glow of the fire.

The Oriel Room
This is a charming wood panelled room with a minstrels gallery, open fireplace and lovely view of the Castle walls.

The Tudor Hall
We are very proud of our Tudor Hall as there’s nothing else quite like it in the country. It’s a truly magnificent room and features an impressive mullioned window, stone walls adorned with tapestries and paintings, an original oak floor and a huge original fireplace. It also features a five and a half metre long solid oak refectory table, which seats 50 guests. The Tudor Hall is self-contained and offers complete privacy away from the main part of the hotel. If you’re looking at organising an exclusive private dinner then it would certainly be worth your while to take a look at this room.
