Dine in Royal Surroundings
We are proud to be awarded 3AA rosettes for the quality of our food and 4 red stars for the quality of our service in our dining rooms – it is an indulgent experience but in a relaxed setting with the finest interiors. Guests can choose from a wide range of delicious and impressive menus* to suit all occasions. Dinner is served from 6.30pm-8.30pm.
If you’re celebrating something special then our Six-Course Tasting Menu (£95pp) is available all week at dinner service (last order 8.30pm), we also serve our A-la-Carte Menu for dinner daily which offers a range of seasonal dishes, many of the ingredients and produce coming direct from our kitchen garden. Of course being a castle and surrounded by history, it goes without saying that we serve decadent Afternoon Tea in our lounges from 1-4pm – something of a British institution. Our lounge menu can also be served in our library and lounge areas if you’d prefer something less formal and we even have a specially prepared menu for the little ones.
*Please note, all menus are samples and dishes may vary.
Afternoon Tea
The concept of afternoon tea was first proposed by the Duchess of Bedford in the 1830s. What could be more opulent than reliving this royal custom in a historic castle two centuries later?
Private dining
For special occasions, the distinctive architecture of the castle provides a number of rooms of various sizes and for various styles of function.
